OCW's mission is to foster self-reliant individuals and families by addressing poverty and unemployment that seriously impact our community, the region, state and the nation.
Our History
For 19 years, OCW has offered and continues to offer effective personal and economic development services and programs that support our mission. These include vocational training, apprenticeships, job placement and retention, contract procurement, and programs such as Senior Energy Assistance and Business Development. They have improved self-sufficiency, and enhanced the economic opportunities and viability of low-income citizens. We also offer programs that are designed to combat recidivisim, teach life skills, financial literacy, and real estate development including home ownership.
In addition, OCW partners with local city governments to promote policies that support inidividual and family self-sufficiency.

Our Goals
Affordable Housing Initiative
-
Develop affordable housing through acquisition of more than 10 homes per year to rehabilitate for resale to low-income individuals and families.
-
Increase Economic Opportunities
-
Close the gap between the lower and higher ends of the socioeconomic scale by providing education, support, and access to resources that increase economic opportunities for disadvantaged, low-income men, women, veterans, seniors and the disabled. With the expansion and implementation of new programs, OCW will be instrumental in the employment of over 2,000 men and women by the end of 2020.
